Traffic without question is the most difficult aspect to new internet marketers the world over. Today, it takes some creativity to stand out from the crowd. Some 90%+ of new internet marketers give up within 6 months of the venture into internet marketing due to abysmal site traffic.

There are literally countless free URL submission sites. A simple Google search of “URL submit” will do the trick.
You may also consider Dmoz (open project directory). Dmoz is a process but, we want to get our URL everywhere, which makes this a wise investment of time.
Have your website or blog pinged every time you add content or make an announcement. Search engine “bots” will begin to index your site if you make sure to ping regularly.

1. Submit your blogs to blog directories. Like URL submission sites, there are hundreds of blogs directory submission sites.
2. Articles articles articles. The gift that keeps on giving. Write simple and concise article about either your site, service or other product you wish to promote. They won’t actually submit articles for you as much as provide you with a massive list of article hosting sites (currently 1077) you can submit to and a nifty way to track where you submitted.
3. Register in forums and participate there effectively, also do not forget to place your link on forums that relate to your articles in your website. Forums are increasingly becoming a major player in how traffic is generated. So spend a little time there.
4. Blog Commenting When you visit a website, blog related to yours always leave comments that will direct people to your site, the reason is that search engines especially Google ranks a website that is linked to other websites which means that the website must have valuable content.
5. Video Promotion. Have a video promoting you site or product? Then by all means spread the word. Submitting a video to as many video hosting sites nearly always results in a marked increase in visits to a website or blog. Be sure to include your URL in all video clip descriptions or in the video itself. One great and free mass video submission tool providing great results is TubeMogul.com. You will need to setup accounts at all the sites it submits to prior to mass submitting a video.
